2nd Damazo Cup Competition: Over-all Champion (Grade School)

After weeks of extensive skills training in preparation for the upcoming trend and "sought-after" event in the field of Scouting, the annual Sergio P. Damazo Jr. Memorial Cup Regional Competition, which was divided into three separate activities this year, namely: the (1) Scout Rally Games Competition (for Grade & High School Category), (2) Drum and Bugle Corps Competition, and a (3) Basketball Tournament for USJ-R alumni, is finally done.

Early Morning Parade from Cabreros Street to USJ-R

Even before the sun could rise, the cold breeze of the morning welcomed our Scouts as we prepare for the day's competition. Our Scouting unit was only participated with 17 Scouts each for our Grade School and High School, but our grade school Boy Scouts earned most of the respect from the USJ-R Scouts as they gained ALL the special awards and bested other competing schools with almost all of the first places in the Scout Rally Games competition.

Basic Troop Commands Competition

The University of San Jose-Recoletos really has its wonderful setting. Although it was not my first time being inside the school, but the institution itself has never failed to surprise me with regards to their amenities, facilities, administration and tradition, hence making one of the most prestigious Scouting units of the Cebu Council BSP, the USJ-R Jaguars.

It has been a great and satisfying day. Congratulations to the winners and thank you for the inspiration, Great Sergio P. Damazo Jr. and to all the organizers and Josenians who have helped in making this event possible with immense achievement. Expect us, the Tejero "Thunder" Scouts, to be there during the 3rd Damazo Cup on the following year.

Adelante!
